About the course!

I found the course quite interesting considering that I have never learned much about science and technology. My favourite part of the course was the technology, talking about all the robots and vehicles that can do things for themselves in the later years. I knew that some day robots would take over the world but I didn’t realize the great affect that it may have on humans who work hard to support their families and the amount of jobs that can put people out of work.

Cars that drive themselves is just beyond interesting but it could be unsafe at the same time because I don’t think I car can fully develop to understand all the road cautions, but i’d want to try it out some day.

What I didn’t find so interesting about the course was global warming, only for the fact that talking about the earths problems and pollution isn’t that appealing to me but im glad to be able to learn and have more knowledge then I did before.

As for social media, everybody has and no one can live without it and I think that will just be an ongoing factor.

This article talks about how social media affects teenagers view of friendship and intimacy with other people. A study has been done that teenagers who are on social media tend to make their posts private for online those who follow or those who are accepted can see it. In my opinion, I don’t think that’s a horrible thing (keeping posts private) because I think its better to meet people at events, school or even at work.. but not through the internet since you wouldn’t know who you can actually be talking to.

The article also discusses how teenagers may have social anxiety so its easier for them to communicate through internet because they don’t have to meet face to face.

The reason why social media affects the way people interact with each other is because its just easier to communicate with. Unfortunately this makes the average human lazy to actually go out and have a good time because they’d rather text. Also, it takes the average human longer to get ready because they get distracted by social media, texts or phone calls.

However, this makes a lot of people anti-social, you cant even ask a stranger for directions because they have ear phones in their ear 99% of the time. If there was less social media people would find it easier to interact with others but technology just gets better every year and people also come up with new things that people will find interest in. Maybe hanging out with people you interact with will become the norm one day.

Global Warming 101

In the video Global Warming 101, I learned that every year the weather changes drastically which isn’t good for the earth and its the humans that might be causing this global warming. The amount of materials being made such as cars and other things that use gas are damaging the earth because its carbon dioxide gets released into the atmosphere. Global warming also takes into effect when the weather becomes extremely humid in the summer time. Weather like this causes people to stay home because air conditioner saves from heat and its better than feeling dehydrated when its humid. In my opinion, I don’t think that global warming will decrease because the population of humans are always growing therefore it will cause more pollution. Humans can help by reducing the amount of electricity or gas they use per day but it will be difficult considering that new technology is being made daily and that’s all humans use.

The link above is an article about cars that are being built to drive themselves and enhancing things such as learning how to park and changing lanes. This company called Telsa D is trying to out beat Google. However, are cars driving themselves even safe?

My Experience With Creating My First Blog

My experience with creating this blog was pretty horrible, since I am not so tech-savvy.. I really looked like almost as if I am new to this technology based society. I have a friend that also attends Seneca and who also has done a blog on wordpress before, so I had the advantage to ask her a whole bunch of questions for things I did not understand. Unfortunately, after a while it looked like she wanted to strangle me but that’s okay because I figured out majority of it myself. After figuring out some basics, hopefully getting used to this blogging soon, I found it very intriguing. It was fascinating because there are so many different themes to choose from as well as putting your own background pictures that maybe you would prefer over the pictures that wordpress already has. All the themes are very pretty I must say that it took me about 30 minutes to figure out which one I wanted. On the other hand, I think I will enjoy using this blog, looking at different blogs as well as learning how to edit my blogs to make it represent who I am.
